In a letter, Commissioner Amanda Fritz gave her analysis of the proposal to build a baseball stadium in the Lents neighborhood. After praising city leaders for bringing attention to Lents, she pointed out many errors in the plan.
I am glad proponents and opponents of the proposed baseball stadium are considering the relative value of public and private uses of parks, preservation of trees, and neighborhood livability.
The Beavers' stadium would be a nice amenity for Lents, where many love baseball, from Little League to Major League. However, the proposal for the stadium in Lents Park falls short of teh MLS Task Force's recommendations.
