Incubating digital marketing
High Five
Friday, 25 June 2010

Web analytics company WebTrends is sponsoring a new "digital marketing incubator" in its Portland office, as a space for entrepreneurs to gather, work, and innovate.

Business incubators have traditionally been places where new business is formed, and have gained traction in the tech sector as areas of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Portland State Business Accelerator at PSU has hosted several Portland startups and scored its biggest success this month when one tenant, Home Dialysis Plus, secured up to $50 million in funding from private investment firm Warburg Pincus.

Wieden+Kennedy's Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE) hosts entrepreneurial events and small companies. It helped nurture mobile app startup Urban Airship, which raised $1.1 million in venture backing last winter.

New big blimp to be built in Tillamook Oregon.
written by James Bond , June 25, 2010 10:46:38 am PDT

Hi folks,
The good news for Oregon business wise is that Northrop Grumman and Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) from Cardington England won a 517 million dollar contract to build a LEMV (Large hybrid airship) for the US Army in Tillamook about 75 miles outside of Portland. That will be real history in the making in airship terms.
If you want to see more on modern airships, past, present and future see: www.airshipblimp.com or if you just want a helium sniffing laugh try www.airship.me the worlds only lighter than air comedy site, with lots of funny pictures and U tube links fit for all the family.
Regards Bond, James Bond.
