Wall Street Journal: Erik Huggers, Intel TV's front man, explains why Intel should lead the charge on making televisions smarter.
In an interview after his onstage grilling at D: Dive Into Media, the former British Broadcasting Corp. executive started with the most obvious question: why is Intel the right company to try to transform television?
A major reason, he says, is Intel’s unusual assets. Besides its chip technology, he points out, Intel has become a major software company, with more than 10,000 programmers. The company has special expertise in open-source programs, including Google’s Android operating system.
