Five famous CEO gaffes

BBC: Over the past few years, a slew of chief executives have made verbal gaffes that even the most brilliant PR teams have had serious trouble spinning.

Whether perceived as racist, sexist, or simply insensitive to broad swaths of people, the following five CEOs have been called out among the worst offenders when it comes to shooting themselves in the proverbial ‘good business’ foot. While all of the executives have issued retractions, the statements made by each has have had repercussions for their businesses—at least temporarily—and made some consumers think twice about buying their products.
