In a switch on the traditional trade show, representatives from UO departments and local and state agencies will host tables to connect with businesses and vendors. The fourth Reverse Vendor Fair will take place Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Eugene.
One of the top events of its kind in the state, purchasers from UO departments and local and state agencies sponsor tables while community businesses, including minority-, women-owned, and emerging small businesses, represent their organizations and network with participants. Past events featured more than 60 UO departments and public and state agencies, while 600 vendors signed up to attend.
“This is a fun event that helps expose departments to new and different vendors in this state,” said Cathey Susman, director of UO Purchasing and Contracting, which organizes the fair. “It provides a wonderful opportunity for vendors to show the departments their work. Many departments were reluctant to participate initially, because they didn’t think they needed to find new vendors. Now they are eager to return and look forward to the fair because they have been surprised by the wonderful connections they have made.”
The fair is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Club at Autzen, 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Eugene. It is free for both vendors and agencies. For more information and to register, visit our site.
