The state’s  most expensive public university, University of Oregon (UO), raised tuition and fees for in-state undergrads more than 100% during the last 10 years, while the dominant science and engineering school, Oregon State University (OSU), raised them 80%.  According to the National Center for Education Statistics, average public university tuition and fees for in-state undergrads for 2008-09, the most recent school year available, was $6,319 nationally, versus $6,286 in Oregon, $5,704 in Washington and $5,254 in California. In Oregon, OSU’s Cascades campus in Bend has raised fees the lowest amount, only 71% over the decade, but Southern Oregon University in Ashland remained the cheapest at $6,120 for 2010-11, followed by Oregon Institute of Technology at $6,639 in Klamath Falls, and La Grande’s Eastern Oregon University at $6,789. Western Oregon University in Monmouth increased its fees the most, 103%, but is still more affordable than UO.

Taxpayers also pay more teachers get more PERS gets more. Education gets worse!!
How many schools pass the No Child Left Behind program?
Sadly education is not about the student any more. How much money goes to the class-room and how much to the machine?
