The state and nation were mired in unemployment during 2010. Nevada’s and California’s rates continued to exceed Oregon’s, which remained above rates in Washington, Idaho and the U.S. Among Oregon's metro areas, Eugene did best, dropping 1.1% to 10.8%, Nov. year-to-date. Bend still suffered above 14%. Corvallis again had the lowest rate, 7.2%. Eastern counties averaged 10.3%, improving compared to the Coast, stuck at 10.9%.
