Articles - April 2009

After five years of steady climbing, most of Oregon’s airports experienced a drop in passenger traffic in 2008. Portland International (PDX), Eugene and Medford airports declined 2.4%, 5.1% and 5.8%, respectively, but Central Oregon’s airport in Redmond held its own with a 0.2% increase in passengers. Domestic airline fares at PDX remained lower than those of Seattle and San Francisco, but higher than Las Vegas and Sacramento in the third quarter of 2008.
