Real estate closings in Harney County grew by nearly one-third in the first six months of 2006, according to statistics released by the county. The 419 closings compare to 324 for the same period in 2005. The increased activity results partly from a population increase, reversing the trend of decreasing population from 2000 to 2005. Real estate agents report a growing number of transplanted retirees looking for homes.

Bioscience complex will house six local companies in 2013

From Oregon Translational Research and Development Institute: OTRADI today announced its plans to open and operate a 13,000 square-foot multi-tenant bioscience complex in the Willamette Wharf building at 4640 SW Macadam Avenue. Slated to be complete in spring 2013, the OTRADI Bioscience Incubator (OBI) will house up to six companies.
