Oregon bankruptcies ratcheted up in 2008 with business filings spiking in December and increasing 67% versus 2007 to 405. Personal filings grew 38% to 12,019. Both were nowhere near the 1,112 business and 31,047 personal filings recorded in 2005 prior to more restrictive laws taking effect. With 3 filings per 1,000 population, Oregon and Washington ranked 25th and 26th among the 50 states in filings per capita for the year ended Sept. 30.

From Oregon Translational Research and Development Institute: OTRADI today announced its plans to open and operate a 13,000 square-foot multi-tenant bioscience complex in the Willamette Wharf building at 4640 SW Macadam Avenue. Slated to be complete in spring 2013, the OTRADI Bioscience Incubator (OBI) will house up to six companies.
