THE LIST

Our annual ranking of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon turns Sweet 16 this year with an astounding 30,000 employees participating.  Oregon Business research editor Brandon Sawyer and research partner Davis, Hibbitts & Midghall calculated the
rankings based on confidential employee surveys and a benefits report completed by each company.

It appears per the pie graph, companies, the top 100 to work for do not embrace diversity?

It appears per Ms Wallace's comment, that she likes to focus on the half-empty part of the glass. Go figure!

Paula Wallace seems to ignore the most obvious explanation, that Portland is mostly white. Most minorities are pretty well represented per the population diversity.

Race stats?

Why did they include racial stats here? What point are they trying to make?

As the previous poster said, it might just be because the area is mostly white, but still, one has to wonder what the point is of including racial stats in this article.. Why do they feel the need to point out which races are among the best managers & employees?
