In their first joint appearance, the four active candidates for Oregon governor – Republicans Allen Alley and John Lim, and Democrats Bill Bradbury and John Kitzhaber – shared their views on economic and education issues.

While they expressed a shared commitment to job creation and spurring green economic growth, the candidates differed in their approaches.

Alley said it was critical for Oregon to end its dependence on fossil fuels because they are finite resources and because one of them, petroleum, is imported from overseas…

Lim said Oregon should reconsider nuclear energy, given that it emits no carbon, which contributes to global warming, and is catching on in France, among other nations.
