Andersen Construction and West Coast Contractors will split the land and marine components of the NOAA project in a joint collaboration in Newport.

The NOAA Marine Operations Center-Pacific project involves building a pier to accommodate six NOAA research ships and a dock for smaller boats. Upland buildings include an 18,000-square-foot office building, a 25,000-square-foot warehouse and smaller buildings for security and hazardous materials. The construction budget is $28 million…

Although Andersen is the lead partner of the joint venture, both companies have representatives on the executive committee overseeing the project. Together, they decide who performs each job.
