Kulongoski urges Oregon-Europe ties

The governor is headed to Europe to try to keep international jobs in Oregon.

Gov. Ted Kulongoski will soon head to Europe to promote business relationships with companies that have Oregon ties.

Kulongoski will meet with corporate executives in The Netherlands, Germany and Denmark before returning Oct. 29. He plans to visit managers of FEI Co., KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Daimler AG and Vestas Wind Systems, all companies that do business in, or with, the state.

"Every day businesses make tough decisions about where they locate and create jobs," Kulongoski said. "I am going to reassure them that they have a strong partner in Oregon to help weather this difficult time."
