The McMenamin brothers are preparing the Crystal Hotel in downtown Portland for its grand opening on May 3.
The 51-room hotel has a music theme to complement the nearby Crystal ballroom.
“Each room is named for song that was performed by a band in the Crystal Ballroom at some point in it’s history,” [McMenamins historian Tim Hills] said.
“It was an auto parts store, it’s been a hotel, it’s been a nightclub over many many years. It was an old bath house as well,” said Renee Rank, marketing director for McMenamins.
