Business and civic leaders including Mayor Sam Adams are headed to Germany on a trade mission organized by the Portland Business Alliance.

“Germany is Oregon’s ninth largest trading partner, with many German companies doing business in our region,” said Roger Hinshaw, chairman of the PBA’s board and market president for Bank of America in Oregon and Southwest Washington, in a news release. “I’m looking forward to strengthening that partnership even more through this trip.”

The mission starts in Berlin with an embassy briefing on the German economy, withstops planned in Dresden, Nuremburg and Stuttgart to hear from Oregon companies doing business in the country. The trip will also take in visits to German companies with operations in the state, including Adidas AG, Daimler AG and SolarWorld. Visits to Siemens AG, Starbucks and Siltronic AG facilities are also on the itinerary.
