Travel is on the rise at the Portland International Airport again after two years of depressed passenger volumes.

Travel is on the rise at the Portland International Airport again after two years of depressed passenger volumes.

The airport recorded 13.2 million passengers in 2010, an increase of two percent over 2009 when 12.9 million passengers flew in or out of the airport, according to Steve Johnson, spokesman for the Port of Portland.

It is the first increase since 2007 when PDX hosted an all-time high of 14.6 million  passengers.

Johnson attributed the growth to improvements in the global economy and new or expanded air service launched last year.
