The iconic Rogue River Lodge is reopening after a $1 million restoration with plans to employ 30 people, making it one of the largest employers on the Upper Rogue.
The business was restored by Anne and Lee Kimball, and is set to reopen August 18.
The lodge’s reopening will put 30 people — ages 16 to 73 — to work, most of whom were unemployed, [Anne] Kimball said. “They’ll be coming from everywhere, from Prospect to Grants Pass and White City.”
“You don’t find that kind of employment opportunity often,” [Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development Inc.’s business development and loan manager Alex] Pawlowski said, “especially in rural communities.”
