Oregon Business wins journalism awards.
Oregon Business won two awards in the ASBPE western region journalism competition. Freelance writer Jonathan Frochtzwajg picked up a Gold award in the long company profile category for “Revenge Forestry,” an article about timber wars in the Elliott Forest.
Reporter Joe Rojas-Burke won a Silver award for his story about the privatization of medical research, Private Science. As we previously reported, Rojas-Burke won a Bronze award for the same article in the AZBEE national competition.
Oregon Business was also ranked one of the top 10 business publications (we clocked in at No. 7) in the under $3 million category.
An Oregon Business article won an award in the 2014 Society for Professional Journalists Northwest Excellence in Journalism Competition. The story, Defensive Play by writer Peter Barnes, took first place in the business affairs and consumer category.
