10.03.13 Blog 100bestOregon Business magazine has named the fifth annual 100 Best Nonprofits to Work for in Oregon. The rankings were revealed Wednesday night during an awards dinner at the Portland Hilton.

Nearly 5,000 employees from 159 organizations throughout the state participated in the project. Based on the magazine’s widely regarded 100 Best Companies project, the nonprofit version was created to recognize a critical business sector that employs hundreds of thousands of workers.

“We realize nonprofits view themselves as different from other businesses, but we also believe they have one thing in common: caring about their employees,” says Oregon Business Editor Linda Baker. “The nonprofits that made the 100 Best list have been successful in creating unique environments where their employees love to come to work.”

About 400 people turned out for the 100 Best nonprofits awards dinner and celebration.  Tony Hopson, president and CEO of Self-Enhancement Inc., delivered the keynote speech.  OPB Morning Edition Host Geoff Norcross served as emcee.
