In a case of much gained — but something lost, too — the university will raze a dozen tiny cottages that have sheltered hundreds of student families through to graduation.
The university’s central kitchen pumps out an enormous amount of food — 10,000 meals a day. In addition, its catering wing does about 28 jobs per day, ranging from a luncheon for 1,200 to a coffee-and-rolls break for a dozen.
