The halibut season is off to a strong start, but Oregon’s salmon fisheries are not, according to the Newport News Times. Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley have followed up on a request by Gov. Kate Brown to seek federal disaster funds. Warm waters and drought conditions are responsible for declining salmon population.

It’s over. The Democrats have conceded and are pulling the plug on a new corporate tax.  The Eugene Register-Guard reports.
