Gov. Brown files lawsuit against travel ban, Portland approves relocation fee and Oregon is getting warmer.
Governor signs executive order against immigration ban
Gov. Kate Brown has directed Oregon’s attorney general to sue the federal government, OPB reports. The suit is in response to Trump’s executive order banning immigrant travel from seven countries. The state of Washington has also filed suit, as did the nonprofit Unite Oregon.

The City Council spent nearly six and a half hours listening to testimony and discussing a proposed relocation fee. The ordinance is effective immediately.

Only Charleston, Asheville and Washington D.C. are gentrifying faster than Portland, the Oregonian reports.
Oregon is getting warmer
A report from the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute found Oregon may get so warm even our storied grape harvest might not survive, the Register Guard reports. If the state doesn’t curtail emissions, Oregon’s average temperature will warm between 3 and 7 degrees by 2050, and 5 to 11 degrees by 2080. The year 2015, for example, was already 5 degrees hotter on average than ever before. The report is one in a series ordered by the Legislature for the 2017 session.
Two Oregon companies test platform to track cannabis pricing
Confident Cannabis has partnered with Cannabis Benchmarks to offer real-time price data to the industry, the Portland Business Journal reports. Cannabis Benchmarks inputs price data, which Confident Cannabis then correlates to lab results, forming a transparent index for cannabis companies to utilize.
