1. Mentor Graphics considers sale
As we reported here, Elliott Management Corp. recently invested in the Wilsonville semiconductor software company. Now, Reuters reports, Mentor Graphics is exploring the possibility of selling, either to a private equity firm or an industrial competitor.
2. Coal project no more at Port of Morrow
Lighthouse Resources, formerly known as Ambre Energy North America, has backed out the proposed $242 million coal terminal in Boardman. The project has been in the development phase for five years. Lighthouse intended to ship coal to Asia via Morrow. But the company started shipping coal to South Korea this month from Vancouver, B.C. and decided it no longer needed the Port of Morrow, the East Oregonian reports. The Port has invested more than $50 million on site to date and will continue to build the dock.
3. Zoom+ fights proposed Oregon Health Authority rule
The OHA is considering a rule to limit the phrase “emergency care” to licensed hospitals. This would prevent healthcare providers like Zoom+ from advertising its ER services, the Portland Business Journal reports. Providing urgent care is just one of Zoom+’s goals as it looks to expand, as well as providing specialty medicine, primary care and health insurance.

6. Oregon wine harvest ideal, albeit early
Thanks to this year’s early spring and moderate summer, the 2016 wine harvest is early. Winemakers typically begin removing grapes from the vine at the end of September, but the Register Guard reports harvest was already completed by that time. This year the vintage is “astonishing.”
