Revolving Door
Northwest Environmental Business Council Executive Director Robert Grott has announced his intention to step down in 2016 after a decade leading the organization.
Jay Kenton, Oregon Tech’s vice president for finance and administration, will serve as the college’s Interim president beginning July 1. The interim VP position is now open.
Autumn Prull has been hired as an associate and marketing specialist for Hubbell Communications. The public relations firm specializes in advocacy, community relations, as well as ballot campaigns and reputation management.
Heather McGuire will serve as the new Director of Sales for South Waterfront’s River’s Edge Hotel and Spa. McGuire comes from the Skamania Resort, with a background at Hilton locations.

Retail and Restaurant
Beaverton continues to make a name for itself as a source of authentic ethnic international food. Oyatsupan Bakers, a Japanese bakery and cafe operated by Japanese founder Hiroyuki Hori, promises to bring Japanese traditions to snack-seekers. “Oyatsupan,” we are told, is a mash-up of two Japanese words: “oyatsu” meaning snack, and “pan,” meaning bread or sweet roll.
Joining dozens of other outdoor apparel companies, Swedish heritage outfitter Fjällräven has opened a location in the Pearl. The 15th location in North America, the shop is as Swedish to the Swedes as crackerjacks is to Americans, so we’re told. The store offers clothing, nordic backpacks and assorted outdoor-themed goods.
