The people of Portland are responding to the recent wave of home demolitions.

The Portland Chronicle has cropped up as a source of information about a trend that has outraged many neighborhood residents.

OregonLive.com reported on the “news site” featuring a mystery staff:

While the writers clearly care deeply about this subject, they generally employ neutral language, citing the names of the applicants, the ages of the houses to be demolished, sale price history, portfolios of designers and the stage of the city review process.

“Our approach in covering these cases, I think, highlights the fact that
development speaks for itself,” wrote [email protected]. “We don’t have to tell people what to think, only to provide information and photos see what people take away from it.”
