Business confidence that sustainable practices will attract new jobs, help with global competition or provide a competitive advantage has slipped over the past six years. This issue’s Input survey, in which 534 business leaders took part, shows an interesting dichotomy. Since 2006, the number of respondents saying their company employs green practices has grown. But since then, the percentage that thinks those practices actually help their business has decreased, with the biggest fall off in the belief that it helps them compete globally.  With 79% saying green practices are important, perhaps it’s a case of doing the right thing for people and planet while profit suffers a bit. The survey was conducted by research partner CFM Strategic Communications.
