{safe_alt_text}This fall, Valley River Mall will add a new department store, Gottschalks. The California retailer operates 63 department stores and 10 specialty stores in six Western states, including stores in Albany, Grants Pass and Klamath Falls. Gottschalks, which sells brand-name apparel and housewares, will move into the 124,000 square feet of space vacated by Macy’s after its merger with fellow mall tenant Meier & Frank.
