No matter how upscale Central Oregon becomes, there’s still room for fun. Architect Bill Schertzinger is working to build a frontier-themed indoor water park and hotel to offer families another reason to come visit the region. Built on 11 acres of a 39-acre parcel of land on the outskirts of town, Schertzinger envisions the water park and hotel as part of a larger development that will attract tourists and provide local jobs year-round. Construction is slated to begin later this year. The first phase of work will provide 15 full-time and as many as 150 part-time jobs.
