Highland Metals Distribution signed a three-year lease for a former mill incubator building at the Lakeview Industrial Park. According to Pamela Fisher with the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, Highland will open a manufacturing facility under the name Tanks LLC by the end of the year. It has a $2.5 million contract to weld water tanks, she says. Fisher organized a job fair in this town of 2,500 to find potential employees for the manufacturing facility. Thirty-five people applied for the dozen initial employee positions.
