Sharon Thomson joins PacificSource Health Plan as Executive Vice President of Community Strategy and Marketing

SPRINGFIELD — After a nationwide search, PacificSource Health Plans has hired Sharon Thomson, a healthcare industry veteran with 25 years of experience, as the company’s new Executive Vice President of Community Strategy and Marketing.

In her new role, Thomson will lead all of PacificSource’s marketing efforts, including brand management, communications, public relations, advertising and wellness and health promotion. In addition, she will also oversee government and community relations and provider network management, building crucial relationships with the communities, businesses, hospitals and health systems, physicians and others responsible for the health of the Pacific Northwest.

Thomson comes to PacificSource from Team Priorities, a consulting firm she founded to help businesses develop highly engaged and productive teams. In addition, she has also held executive positions at Kaiser Permanente and Group Health Cooperative, two of the nation’s largest non-profit health insurance and care providers.

“Sharon has a proven track record of success, and her industry experience and expertise will allow her to make immediate and impactful contributions to our marketing, community, and provider partnership efforts,” said Ken Provencher, president of PacificSource. “Her extensive experience in marketing and communications, leadership in creating customer-focused improvement initiatives, and her collaborative approach with local and state-level stakeholders makes her the ideal person to direct these efforts on behalf of PacificSource.”
