Angels arrive in the Gorge
HOOD RIVER A new
angel investing conference will launch in September in Hood
River. Christened the Gorge Angel Conference 2008, it’s
the creation of the Hood River County Office of Economic
Development, Oregon Entrepreneurs Network and several local
partners. The event already has $70,000 from the Gorge Angel
Investors Network and hopes to be at $100,000 before the Sept.
23 conference, according to Bill Fashing of the Hood River
Office of Economic Development. Early-stage deals are preferred
and companies should be seeking capital within the range of
$100,000 to $1,000,000 and planning to locate in the Columbia
River Gorge region. Just one company will get the full prize
amount and Fashing says he expects about 10 companies to vie
