{safe_alt_text}PORTLAND

The Greenbrier Companies has received an order for 1,700 double-stack rail cars that will be built at its Gunderson facility in Portland. A second shift and 50 workers, primarily welders, will be added so the company can meet the targeted 50% output increase. Greenbrier started production in June and officials anticipate finishing the order by the end of September.
