LA GRANDE
A new VA outpatient clinic in La Grande is welcome news for
1,700 veterans in Eastern Oregon. The clinic, a satellite of
the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center in Walla
Walla, Wash., will provide primary care, primary mental health
and group clinics for post-traumatic stress disorder, diabetes
and hypertension. The 1,700 enrolled veterans in Northeast
Oregon have had to travel to Walla Walla for direct care. The
clinic has no scheduled date to open but officials say it will
be up and running as soon as possible.
