MAY 2007: DISPATCHES

{safe_alt_text} BROOKINGS

Rio Tinto Minerals, parent company of U.S. Borax, has donated 10 acres to the Southwestern Oregon Community College. The property transfer began about three years ago, but only recently did the two parties seal the deal. The college plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony May 12. Southwestern Oregon’s newest campus will most likely house a practical nursing program as well as a community center.
