MAY 2007: DISPATCHES
REDMOND
The Redmond Airport continues to grow with the addition of
First Allegiant flights to Las Vegas. First Allegiant, a budget
operator, began offering the twice weekly flights at the end of
March but quickly stepped up to three weekly flights after
seeing how popular the idea of a weekend getaway in Vegas was
to Central Oregon residents. Airport manager Carrie Novick says
Redmond makes use of reverse marketing to attract Nevada
residents to Central Oregon. The new flights come at a time of
expansion at the airport as officials prepare for a $135,000
addition that will begin later this year.
