Where some see an empty lot, Chet Antonsen sees possibility.
The owner of The
Stockyards and Bend-based PacWest Realty Group, Antonsen
wants to turn a former auction yard for ranchers into a
shopping center. His plans for the 22-acre lot off of Highway
97 include a large anchor tenant such as Fred Meyer or Wal-Mart
with the possibility of smaller tenants clustered around the
site. “If we had one retailer in the Wal-Mart or Fred
Meyer category in a 50,000- square-foot space, we’d do
strip retail around that,” he explains.
