FEBRUARY 2007: DISPATCHES

{safe_alt_text}ASTORIA

Office views are worth a second look at the almost completed Pier 1 Marina Building on the waterfront. Glenn Taggart, an owner of Astoria Bay, which owns the building, says every suite in the 20,000-square-foot facility has a river view. While the site began as an office building on the drawing board, by the time construction got under way in August 2005 the Port of Astoria decided it needed a new space as well and the hybrid-use building took shape. Tenants include Columbia Community Mental Health, psychiatrists, an attorney, the Port’s harbormaster office and Toddles and Waddles, a clothing store for expectant mothers and their babies. The Pier 1 building, which still has space available for lease, is expected to open next month.
