Residents in Linn County may soon have an answer to the old
question "Pepsi or Coke?" SVC
Manufacturing, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, is proposing building a
Gatorade and Propel Fitness Water production and packaging
plant on 250 privately owned acres. If approved, SVC would
begin work on the $165 million, 900,000-square-foot production
plant and the $85 million, 400,000-square-foot packaging plant,
both of which would open in 2008. Together the plants would
bring 200 jobs into the area within their first year of
operation.
