Online outdoor retail supplier GreatOutdoors.com has outgrown its
Kirkland, Wash., location and set up camp at a second site
located 15 miles outside of Bend. GreatOutdoors, a division of
Altrec.com, will use
its new 35,000-square-foot building as a distribution and call
center as well as for administrative offices. This creates
about 30 new jobs in an area known for outdoor hotspots such as
Smith Rock, Mount Bachelor and the Deschutes River. “We
were looking for something that matched the outdoor lifestyle
[of the company],” says Altrec.com CEO Mike Morford.
“This is the ideal location with strong outdoor
activities.”
