Relatively cheap land, proximity to a railroad spur that will
allow for efficient distribution of its gun safes and a
welcoming environment fostered by Lake County officials
attracted California-based Hall’s Safe Company to buy
eight acres in the Lake County industrial park for its new
manufacturing facility. Construction has begun on the building,
and operations are expected to begin in January 2007 with 12-16
employees. “There was no industrial space left near our
operations in Loomis, and after looking around for
alternatives, I found that we could spend one-tenth of the cost
to build in Oregon,” says COO Andy Johnson.
