Construction of the new suspension span on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge likely will result in jobs added to the 71-person American Bridge hub in Reedsport. The company received a $1.43 billion contract for structural steel fabrication and installation in a joint venture with Texas-based Fluor. The companies will build the single-span suspension portion of the bridge, including a 525-foot steel tower. Work has begun on the 1,854-foot bridge, with on-site work scheduled for March 2007.
