The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife in mid-May raised daily catch limits of rainbow trout at Diamond Lake to 20 of any size, allowing anglers to keep two daily limits in possession. The ODFW will introduce 20,000 rainbow trout to the lake following snow melt and requests that anglers assist in trout removal in preparation for an intensive netting operation in July to remove fish prior to a fall pesticide treatment. The $5.3 million restoration project intends to remove all tui chub from the lake, closing fishing from Sept. 5 through Oct. 31.
