— A new all-time record for passengers was reached at Portland International Airport in 2005. Travel was up 6.5% for the year with close to 13.9 million passengers passing through the airport. In addition to an improved economy, officials  attribute the growth to increased capacity on existing routes and new service such as JetBlue’s nonstop flights to New York and Mexicana Airlines’ daily nonstop service to Guadalajara.
